It was previously communicated that all Better Biomass audits from 21 May 2025 onwards must be carried out in accordance with the new version of the scheme documents: the +A1:2025 versions, which include the sustainability requirements set out in RED3.
In accordance with the decision of the Committee of Experts (CvD) of 23 February 2026, Better Biomass certificates issued under NCS 8080-1:2015 will have a final validity date of 21 December 2026. After this date, only certificate holders with a certificate issued under NCS 8080:2024 +A1:2025 will be included in the register.
